Fashion in the Flashiest of Flashes

This week's blog is dedicated to those women who are always on the go, always in a rush, or just plain lazy. Tips for quickie nail polish application to oily hair that needs a lift--this blog will go a long way. According to a New York Post online survey, it takes women an average of 54 minutes to get ready for work in the morning, let alone a night on the town, which takes about 90 minutes. Think it sounds outrageous? Think again. If one adds up the time it takes for hair, nails, tanning, shower, clothing, etc. that 90 minutes comes and goes in a flick of the mascara wand. Here are some tips for getting ready and cutting back on that 90 minute mark... 3,2,1...GO!

Here are a few of my favorite products:

Avon has become genious! Creating a nail polish that doesn't smear, smudge, and takes a matter of minutes to apply. This new polish comes in eight color variations and allows for a quick change of color or a quick fix before a dinner date. These are sold through Avon reps or on the Avon website. The average price range is around $10 for 2 packages. Try that new red color in a rush and voila!

This product looks like a Benadryl Allergy pill or a birth control package--but its lip glosses. Just as easy to apply minus the messy tube. These packages offer a variety of 30 different colors of glosses in an easy pop-out package. They are dotted and can be torn to a small square that slips in a clutch or small evening bag. Use gloss instead of lipsticks and liners which could take longer. These are a definite time saver!

I have found true love! This blowdryer is a bit costly--but in the end cuts down on time and arm energy. It is approximately $119 and can be found almost anywhere. (But--thanks to my mother, the the hairdresser -- *plug for mom* -- I got this dryer for half the cost at the warehouse). The Tourmaline T3 is ionic, which soaks up a majority of the moisture in the hair follicle, yet still keeps the hair soft and silky. This is a sure way to help the hair get back in better shape and makes frizz float away.

Bumble and bumble’s new hair powder is, quite predictably, amazing. I love the powder and use it frequently since I have been informed (by mother) that the key to healthy hair is to only wash it when necessary because oils in the hair are good and keeps bacteria and pollution from entering the particle. I love this product but the aerosal spray can creates pollution for the environment *frown*you do have to hold your breath and run out of the room prior to choking. Annoying…but I guess this is what I’ll do for beauty (and somewhat clean-ish hair).

This product is a three-in-one savior! Found at Sephora.com, it is a shampoo. bubble bath, and body wash all in one. This saves space and seconds on the clock. The smell is reminiscient of mornings waking up and aroma of cinnamon buns and Christmas cider with cinnamon shavings. It is utterly breathtaking. A must have for any girl's shower ethics. Average cost? $16.

Hope these helpful hints hinder time and help the morning and night go by swifter. Till next time..

She wore an itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka-dot bikini..

According to the encyclopedia, a swimsuit (also swimmers), bathing suit (also bathers) or swimming costume (sometimes shortened to cozzie) is an item of clothing designed to be worn for swimming. Forget the swimming, everyone wants that summer glow! Swimsuit fashions have exploded for the 2006 season. In Style magazine gave some of their hottest picks from the less inexpensive to over-the-top bathing suit fashion. Whether a fashion faux-pas or not, being clad in a skimpy bikini weeds out the haves from the have-nots. So, if you boast that rock hard body--rock on! If pilates, yoga, or three hours of rigorous gym workouts are not baring any results--have no fear, the one piece bathing suit has returned; more fashionable than ever!

Take it away Ms T!!!!!

Tis the season for snakeskin, as in this beautiful snake inspired bikini by Cosabella, boldly known as the Mare Manaos bikini. Retail price is $130.00. Visit Cosabella for more exotic prints at manageable prices.

This next suit screams "All Aboard!" This amazing hand woven piece is one of Anna Kosturova's creations. It will be a definite hit on the beaches of sunny South Florida. For a bit less than the first, this striped classic runs a mere $122.00. The downfall? Sizes only range from small to medium. The old days are back again. Styles from the 50's have sprung up in fashion like wildfire. This Marilyn Monroe inspired polka-dot bathing suit will shine! The keyhole in the upper part of the suit offers as a stylish twist to an old favorite. The sides hold the suit together with two delicate bows. For only $19.00, this suit is a fun look for the new summer season. Newport News is the way to go.

These two bathing suits are are both from the Venus Swimwear line and offer a sexy swimwear option. The plunging gray suit on the left boasts gold paillettes and ties at the neck like a halter. This suit goes for $119.00 and will last summer after summer as a stylish suit. The halter suit with the cinched silver ring in the center is a sleek suit which is different than most boring one pieces. Although it is moderate coverage, a tan may still be in the works! This goes for $59.00 on sale at Venus Swimmear's site.

Whether basking in the sunlight or building sandcastles with the kids, these suits offer a wide variety of different looks for the summertime. So, women of the world--kick off your shoes, slip on your sandals and bury those feet in the sand! Have a fresh squeezed lemonade on me!
